Sustainability
The world has seen a big emphasis on sustainability, and recycling. We are happy to see this development and we fully embrace it.
In the following you can read more about some of the actions we take to protect our planet.

WFO
Ocean Friends’ was the first product line in our charitable program “Giving Back” – and through the years we have given a significant contribution to our partner, the non-profit organisation Waste Free Oceans (WFO).
Increasing pollution is affecting our oceans and all life in it. Therefore, we have partnered with Waste Free Oceans to support ocean cleaning in the most needed areas.
With every ‘Ocean Friends’ product sold, Petjes World will donate 0,20 - 0,75€ to Waste Free Oceans, an organisation focused on reducing marine litter.
We hope you will join us in these small steps towards cleaning our oceans!

EAZA
The ‘Nature Friends’ and 'Nature Friends Endangered’ product lines are programs in our ‘Giving back’ project. The purpose of this project is to donate money to EAZA
(The European Association of Zoos and Aquariums) to help protect and save wildlife and endangered species.
For every ‘Nature Friends’ product sold, Petjes World will donate €0,20 - 0,25 to EAZA.
We hope you like this product line so we can donate a lot of money to EAZA. The more you buy and sell, the more we donate. It is a great win-win situation, and a good story to share with your customers.

We don’t throw away – we donate!
Occasionally some products fail quality control. There can be multiple reasons, e.g. defective sewing, colours, tags etc.
Instead of destroying the products we collaborate with a wonderful group of volunteers, who repair them so they can be donated to children’s organisations or medical institutions.
The list of places the products have been donated to is among others:
Hospitals in Denmark
Hjemløs i Århus (Homeless in Aarhus)
Legeheltene (play heroes)
Red Cross family camps
Danish Cancer Society
Ukraine

Recycled materials in products
All stuffing in our plush toys is made of recycled rPET. And the following products lines is made our of only rPET.
ECOsoft, ECOmbacks, ECOmbacks snakes, Caps, Bucket hats, Umbrellas, Shopping bags and some Bracelets
But what exactly is rPET?
RPET stands for recycled polyethylene terephthalate. So in simple terms, rPET is recycled plastic - just like the plastic waste we see floating in our oceans and the plastic we return using recycling systems in many countries.
We design and produce with sustainability in mind, and we will continue to focus on the use of recycled material in our future production.
